How Pragmatic Innovation Can Reduce Workplace Friction

"When I began my career in the pro-audiovisual industry two and a half decades ago, innovation was steady but slow. New AV solutions were conceived, developed, launched and matured over several years.

Since then, digital transformation, steep competition and our collective appetite for innovation have dramatically compressed the product life cycle. What once took years can now be achieved in months, if not weeks—especially with the proliferation of AI-based tools.

This pace of innovation can cause companies to chase the next big thing, hoping it will solve their challenges or attract employees back into the workplace. However, as the head of innovation for an audiovisual solutions provider and integrator, I have a surprising piece of advice. Rather than thinking about what innovations are coming next, I encourage you to focus on the here and now. I call this approach pragmatic innovation, and I’ve seen firsthand how it can solve some of the biggest causes of friction in the modern workplace."
