Manager of Central Engineering

What You Will Be Doing:

The Manager of Central Engineering ensures that the day-to-day activities of the engineering staff provide engineering services and customer support which result in high levels of productivity of individual engineers. The Central Engineering Manager provides customers, sales representatives, and the engineering staff with design and design support of multifaceted high-level audio, video, audio-visual, UC, broadcast and presentation systems.

The Manager of Central Engineering directly supervises 1 to 15 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems. In addition, project manager or foreman responsibilities may be required for applicable projects

What you’ll bring to assure your success:

  • The Manager of Central Engineering should have 5 to 10 years of industry experience; previous and current system engineering, installation, and field service experience, academic background in specific Audio, Video, Broadcast and IT related curriculum, and the proficiency of the positions’ required skills
  • Previous experience in the service and installation of audio, video, audio-visual, broadcast and presentation systems.
  • Computer literacy skills supported by acknowledged certification and AutoCAD software familiarity are also very important
  • Knowledge of project financial reports, and the ability to control costs in department is essential.
  • The position requires effective presentation of information in one-on-one, small group and large group situations, in both team leadership and customer service roles utilizing Unified Collaboration or Presentation equipment.
