Look and Sound Like a Leader: Easy-to-Use Broadcast Studio Solution

Written by Grant Guston | Aug 9, 2024 1:00:00 PM

The need for executive broadcast studios is growing. And while they may sound like something only enterprise-level organizations need, these studios are quite useful for companies of all sizes.

That’s why AVI placed a broadcast streaming solution front and center at our InfoComm 2024 booth. This Engagement Solutions Experience allowed us to demonstrate several cutting-edge yet easy-to-use broadcast solutions that are guaranteed to keep your audience engaged.

We also scoured the InfoComm show floor for the latest broadcast technologies that solve our clients’ most pressing needs. Two manufacturers caught our attention:

  • Enco's Qimera is a virtual production technology that allows you to go beyond the physical space to a virtually unlimited world. You can pair this solution with greenscreen and/or direct-view LED walls to create a photoreal environment, which saves time, money, and travel. Qimera also makes it easy to transform slides, spreadsheets, or 3D model content into dynamic augmented reality graphics. In addition, Enco’s EnCaption is an AI-based live closed-captioning and translation solution. It not only serves ADA requirements, but also addresses audience engagement in instances where a speaker isn’t clearly heard, and the audience wants to read along.
  • Ikan's Power-Over-Ethernet (PoE) Lights are a game changer for corporate settings. They’re powered and controlled by one network cable, which simplifies set-up and reduces costs. Ikan also showcased a remote-controlled, motorized column that makes it easier to adjust the height of cameras, teleprompters, and talent monitors. Finally, their teleprompter displays can now receive and display video feeds transmitted using the Network Device Interface protocol over a standard Ethernet network, eliminating the need for additional cables.

This post shares why more companies want dedicated broadcast spaces and how they’re using them to achieve their communication and marketing goals.

What’s driving demand for executive broadcast studios?

In the simplest terms, the landscape of communication is changing in a post-pandemic, hybrid-as-the-new-norm, here-comes-AI world. Audiences want more, and so do the people leading communication and marketing functions. Some of the top forces driving demand for executive broadcast studies include:

  • Evolving audience expectations – it’s not just Zoom fatigue; people are simply more accustomed to high-quality content.
  • Remote and distributed workforces/hybrid work – most companies have employees in multiple locations for myriad reasons.
  • Technology advancements – studio equipment is more available, affordable, and user-friendly than ever. In addition, AI is bringing new capabilities all the time, such as live closed captioning and gesture-driven actions.
  • Efficiency and cost-effectiveness – permanent studios offer a streamlined production process compared to an on-site video shoot and allow organizations to reign in the cost of working with a third party. And as you know, it’s expensive to bring dispersed employees together in person for large company meetings and events.

What are some common use cases?

You can use an executive broadcast studio for a wide range of needs, which is why we design every studio for multiple use cases as well as ease of use. Here are just a few of the ways our clients use theirs:

  • Internal communications: All-hands meetings and town halls, sales meetings, weekly team updates.
  • External communications: Sharing product or service announcements with customers or partners, delivering quarterly earnings, and holding annual shareholder meetings.
  • Media interviews: Conducting media interviews or prepping in advance for challenging scenarios.
  • Thought leadership: Creating podcasts, recording highly produced panel discussions, creating YouTube videos, or other content for online distribution. This is an area of hot growth as more brands rise to meet the demand for original content.
  • Training and development: Recording high-quality training videos for internal or external use.
  • Marketing and sales: Producing professional marketing or sales videos to showcase your products or services. Product demonstrations, launches, or training.
  • Live events: Hosting town halls and fireside chats, launching new products, celebrating company milestones, conducting quarterly business reviews, and more.

Of course, we could go on. The point is that these are self-serve pop-in studios anyone at your company can use to improve the quality of their presentation when it matters.

What about space requirements? And ease of use?

Corporate real estate is expensive, and many of our clients have only a small conference room to work with. We can help you convert that space into a small but mighty studio that can produce high-end, professional-looking content easily.

In addition, we architect solutions for the real world and know that most clients don’t have someone on staff with a broadcast background. So, we ensure that with just a few clicks on an interactive keypad, you’re ready for lights, camera, impact. (And if there’s a control interface your team already uses, we can even work that into your solution.)
